Alice Carmichael Richey has broad litigation and dispute resolution experience representing a variety of individuals, partnerships, public corporations, and closely-held corporations. She has tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict in state and federal courts, represented clients in arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association and other arbitration panels, and participated as an attorney and mediator in mediations in state and federal court proceedings. She routinely handles trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Alice has extensive appellate experience representing clients before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She seeks to provide high quality, cost-effective legal services on behalf of her clients, working to understand each client’s business or personal objectives and to solve problems legally and practically.

Alice was formerly a partner with Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman LLP, where she practiced for 22 years. She was a partner for one year at K&L Gates, LLP (by merger with Kennedy Covington) before founding her own firm.
